METALLICA Drummer Shares Details Of 'Hit The Lights' Tent At 'Orion Music + More'

June 13, 2012

A seven-minute video message from METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich in which he shares the details of the Hit The Lights film tent at the band's upcoming two-day festival Orion Music + More — which will take place on June 23-24 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey — can be seen below.

Share Ulrich's passion for all things film at the Hit The Lights film tent with movies all hand-picked by Lars, each with a special connection to him and/or METALLICA. The man himself will be on hand personally introducing every movie playing over the festival weekend and sharing stories about his bond to each.

Check out the North American premiere of "Mission To Lars", the touching story of one family's journey that leads to Lars and METALLICA. Co-directors William Spicer and Robert Moore will be on hand to introduce the film and take questions following the screening. See Lars' portrayal of filmmaker Joris Ivens in HBO's "Hemingway & Gellhorn", filmed in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Meet METALLICA fan and filmmaker Derek Cianfrance before the screening of his film "Blue Valentine", Lars' favorite movie of 2010! Lars' father Torben Ulrich will be on hand to talk about his film "Before The Wall: Body & Being", featuring a soundtrack of unusual sounds all assembled by Lars.

Lars will be on hand personally introducing every movie playing over the festival weekend and sharing stories about his bond to each film and his love of movies.

An entire stage at Orion Music + More devoted to punk and thrash music — Damage Inc. Stage — will be headlined by SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and SEPULTURA, and will feature up-and-comers TORCHE, RED FANG, KYNG, LANDMINE MARATHON, BLACK TUSK, THY WILL BE DONE, and more.

Orion Music + More will feature multiple live music stages plus a lifestyle element that reflects each of METALLICA's bandmembers' many personal interests. METALLICA will headline both nights of Orion Music + More and play "The Black Album" in its entirety one night and "Ride The Lightning" in its entirety the other. This will be the only time the band will perform these albums in North America in 2012.

Tickets for Orion Music + More are currently on sale for $150 for a two-day pass including all fees. Visit www.orionmusicandmore.com to buy tickets.
